do you think humans are meant to pair for life? i mean is it biologically realistic? (mike, this is your cue. emily, since you are getting married in less than TWO weeks i'll let you off the hook! oh dear god, i'm sorry emmy, you and andy ARE meant to pair for life, we know that for sure! =D ) anyway. it seems that if we are at all like other living beings (we are right, on the most basic levels?) that our main goals are to eat, sleep and reproduce. for men this means impregnating as many women as possible. for women this means controlling our resources or the source of our resources (men, lots of the time) to ensure that our offspring will survive. does this mean men and women are genetically at odds with each other in terms of goals? does it take a really special, or specially evolved, man not to cheat? should mating for life be a goal for humankind? i dunno. i think i may be a sceptic.
